Evocati
We, Evocati, are a semi-hardcore raiding guild with a friendly, family atmosphere. We advocate patience, respect and communication - working together to provide a strong and enjoyable raid experience. In one form or another, Evocati has existed since 2005 with the same members at its core. The opportunity to make good friends in this guild can never be overstated.
Code of Conduct for Evocati Members
You are to show respect to players around you, both within the guild, outside, and outside of the game. Your actions represent Evocati, and your peers within it. If you cannot behave in a positive manner, you do not belong in the guild.
We are a mature group of players, and treat each other maturely in Guild Chat and on Team speak. If you have suggestions for a particular player or a group of players, you should communicate them in a positive and constructive manner. Swearing at, or belittling of guild members, even in the heat of battle or after a long night, will not positively affect the guild and its potential.
If you fail to settle your differences with your peers privately and in a respectful way, you are to talk to an officer. Under no circumstances are you to become a vigilante on these matters.
Failure to comply with this code of conduct may result in demotion or removal from the guild.
Raids
We do not kid ourselves into thinking we are a hardcore raiding guild. We are out to have fun and see as much content as possible. However, consistent failure is not fun and is a great let-down to the members of the guild that put in their best efforts.
This means you are expected to be on time for raids. It takes 15 minutes to get anywhere in the game world, as such, you should be online 15 minutes before the raid invites start. Raid invites will take place 15 minutes before the raid starts. If you cannot attend a raid that you are expected to show for (even if you are on standby), you should post on the forums or contact an officer by any means before the invites begin. If you are expecting to be late, you should be logged out near the raid entrance so that you are immediately available.
If you show up to the raid at least 10 minutes early ( 19:35 latest to be eligible ) you will receive an on-time bonus. This means that for the first item you roll on in that raid, you will get +20 added to your roll. If everybody shows up on time ( I consider 19:30 on time, the extra 5 minutes is generous ) then this won't really make a difference. However if you turn up late, and somebody who was on time rolls 19 less than you on that BiS trinket you've been wanting for weeks that finally drops, too bad.
Raiders are expected to be fully prepared with flasks, materials and potions for the raid. You should also be fully repaired before the raid starts. We raid 3 nights a week, leaving plenty of time to prepare for the next raid. Such preparation includes thoroughly briefing yourself on the necessary tactics 2-3 raids ahead of time.
Raid invites are chosen based on your rank, and after that based on raid composition requirements and the long-term guild requirements. This means lesser-geared people or trials may be chosen over other members if appropriate.
You should sign up on the guild calendar as soon as possible as either:
Accepted - you will be there.
Tentative - you may be there.
Declined - you won't be there.
Any members that do not respond on the in-game calendar or who are still tentative (without reason) 1 hour before the raid will lose their priority on raid invites.
During raids you are expected to be patient with pulls. You are also expected to be the most efficient and effective raider as possible. This means you should be doing optimal performance for your gear level and performing the mechanics without needing to be constantly reminded of them.
We understand that unavoidable real-life events occur during raiding, and assuming that they are reasonable and notice is given this will be accepted. However, if it causes significant problems to the raid, you will be replaced without hesitation.
Those that fail to comply or consistently under-achieve are less likely to be chosen for raid positions, and may be demoted.
Guild Ranks
Raider - These are the bread-and-butter members of the guild. Gaining this rank is a tribute to your raiding caliber. These members will be chosen for raids based on their performance, suitability to the particular raid setup and encounters, and their overall contribution to the guild. There will also be a certain degree of rotation between these members, giving everyone a reasonable chance to prove themselves. Consistent poor performance will result in demotion to Trial or Social, depending on the circumstances.
Trial - This is the trial rank. Every new recruit will be subject to trial status for a maximum of three raids. As a Trial, you are expected to do everything that a Raider would, and will have equal priority on raid spots. After a successful trial period, you will be promoted to Raider. In the event of failing your trial period, you will either be able to accept a non-raiding status within the guild, or to end your membership in order to find another guild.
Social- This is the social rank within the guild, for those who have joined the guild purely for the atmosphere. These members are still expected to show respect to other members of the guild.
Legend - This is a social rank reserved for long-standing veterans of Evocati, who have retired from raiding or only raid infrequently.
There are three other ranks within the guild. Guild Master and Hand of the GM are the guild leaders, and Officers are the guild officers. These members and are the people you should speak to for anything concerning the guild.
Loot
Loot is handled using a roll system, with one of the officers as master looter. The priorities for loot are:
1.
Mainspec - Each member is assigned a main spec, even if you are asked to perform other roles within the guild. This is discussed at your promotion to Raider rank.
2. Offspec - For certain members, you are also assigned an off-spec. You will only have one designated off-spec and this will be discussed at your inception to the guild. Normally, Trial will always count as off-spec, but this is subject to
the Officer's discretion.
3. Other - This includes non-designated off-specs. In the rare case that an alt is permitted to replace a main in a raid, it will roll in this category, unless the alt has been expressly been requested by the Raid Leader in order to fulfill a specific role.
4. Disenchant - The materials will be placed in the guild bank, in which they will either be kept for use by members, or sold to fund the guild bank.
We encourage selflessness when it comes to loot. Although not enforced, we encourage sensible sharing of loot to better the guild as a whole. Allowing a member to get a big upgrade, compared to taking a small upgrade yourself, is the kind of behavior that we look for in our members.
Closing Statement
We are a strong community, and we get this from our loyal, respectful and mature players. We hope that you can become an integral part of this guild.
